Booking for a Barnaby event
How we use your personal data
We use your name and contact details to contact you about the event you have booked, to make arrangements for ticketing (if any) and admission to the event, and as a record of the financial transaction (if any) for accounting and tax purposes. We use your address details as part of the payment process. We don’t have access to payment card details because these go through a secure third party online payment processing service.
We won’t add you to our mailing list when you book an event – to go on our email list and get details of other Barnaby events, sign up to the Barnaby Bulletin
We may take photographs and video recordings at the event. We may use these photos and video recordings to publicise or report on the festival. Please tell an event steward if you don’t want to be in photographs or videos. We will remove/delete any images of you that we publish if you ask us to. The legal basis on which we handle personal data for people who book events is that of contract.
How long we keep your data
If you have booked for free events we will delete the data you provided within a year of the event. If you have booked tickets for paid events we will keep the data only for as long as it is required for tax and accounting purposes. We may keep photographs and video recordings indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them.

What personal data we hold
We will hold the personal details you give us when you sign up. We may also then hold any further information you give us about your interests in relation to volunteering. In addition we may keep records of volunteer activity you do for us.

We use your personal details to contact you with information about volunteering opportunities, to help us match you with suitable volunteering roles, and to contact you in relation to volunteering roles you have agreed to take on. We will also use your email address to email you the Barnaby Bulletin, giving you news about the Festival. This may include information about ways you can support the Festival, including volunteering and financial donations.

If you have subscribed for the Barnaby Bulletin separately and no longer want to receive it, you will need to also click the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of any Barnaby Bulletin.

If you use the ‘donate’ button on the website, your personal information will be used only for the purpose of processing the payment. We won’t contact you with further information about the festival unless you also subscribe to the Barnaby Bulletin or sign up as a potential volunteer.

We only ask for personal data on evaluation forms if we are offering a prize as an incentive for completing the form. You can fill the form in without giving any personal data, but you won’t be able to win the prize because we won’t know who you are.
