Participation and Learning Coordinator : Invitation to Tender

We are looking to contract a Participation and Learning Coordinator . The role is to deliver the first part of our Outreach & Engagement programme which will be in support of the June 2020 Macclesfield Barnaby Festival. This part of our festival programme is funded by the Cheshire East Council Cultural Framework. It will deliver a young producers ‘takeover’ and capacity building programme for young people and local artists. It should also enhance our existing schools network.

The programme of work will require working with a wide range of local, regional and potentially national organisations. Project delivery will be September 2019 to end March 2020.

About you

We are looking to hear from people with the following experience, skills and abilities to bring to Macclesfield Barnaby Festival:

Essential

  • Experience working with children, young people and community groups.
  • Ability to drive creative ideas from conception through to completion.
  • Ability to ensure positive and sustainable relationships with participants and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of designing learning environments for effective capacity building.
  • Excellent communication skills across a range of stakeholders and audiences including participants, trustees and funders.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
  • Experience of project and budget management.
  • Ability to deliver effective monitoring and reporting arrangements.
  • Some experience of working within the arts, culture and/or heritage sector

Desirable

  • Knowledge of existing youth and community groups in Macclesfield and Cheshire East.
  • Proven ability to deliver participatory arts or art for social change initiatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and commission arts organisations and freelance artists.

Successful candidates will be required to:

  • hold public liability insurance of a minimum of £5 million.
  • Demonstrate they are allowed to work in the U.K.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS disclosure for working with children.
