Barnaby Volunteers
You are an army of enthusiastic and hard working people who come from far and wide to assist in delivering the Macclesfield Barnaby Festival. Some people offer a couple of hours in total, others make a regular commitment in the months leading up to festival in a number of different areas.

Volunteer Roles
There are many ways to volunteer, depending on where the festival is in the planning process. Here are some of the roles:
Front of House – taking tickets on the door, welcoming the public, ushering and assisting venue managers
Venue Management – working with artists/performers and technical teams, managing front of house team, liaising with festival management team and venue owner
Make Do and Mend Team – small DIY or construction jobs, producing structures or fixing up venues
Admin Support Team – provide clerical, database or other duties in the Barnaby office
Barnaby Ambassadors – attending public events to promote the festival and make new contacts
Marketing and Media team – develop media contacts, write press releases, manage social media, direct mail, organise promotion, support website team
Web – develop functionality, write and manage content
Way Marking & Signage Team – design, make, paint or sew materials to animate town centre and direct public; design, create and manage the evolving Barnaby ‘washing lines’.
Project & Event Managers and Assistants – develop and/or run anything from a large-scale concert to micro-happening
Stewarding – at visual art exhibitions, outdoor events or indoor performances
Distribution Team – get marketing materials to shops and offices in a small geographical area, become the Barnaby Rep’!
Runners and Helpers… general last-minute tasks, trouble-shooting and running around!
