Macclesfield Barnaby Festival is a 10-day arts and cultural festival that takes place every two years in June, a biennial celebration inspired by Macclesfield’s rich history, heritage and culture. ‘Pop Up’ events also take place outside of festival season as part of a broader outreach programme.
The seventh Barnaby Festival returns 15-24 June 2018 and we’re planning loads of different events from live music, great food, comedy, visual art, talks and walks. The 2018 theme is ‘Routes/Roots’, in all its many interpretations, inspired by Macc’s people, unique heritage, silk history and its place in the landscape.
Most live events will take place over the two weekends with a host of activities on 15 -17 June 2018. The famous Barnaby Carnival Parade moves off from Marketplace at noon on Saturday 16th. If you’d like to register for this, there’s still time, just click here. You can also follow the Barnaby visual arts trail, showcasing the amazing artistic work we produce in our town and there’ll be some great live music to enjoy. There’ll be some great events on the second weekend too (22-24 June) with a festival cool down at Treacle Market on Sunday 24th June.
Details of our 2018 programme will be released after Easter but you can keep in touch by following us on Twitter @BarnabyFestival or on Facebook.
