Using both the history of silk and its roots in Macclesfield to explore the threading together of ancient and modern, community and culture, history and myth. Unearthing local materials, skills and stories, this exhibition is a co-creation with the community by artist Grace McLoughlin. Grace is a fine art graduate from the Central St. Martins ‘Fine Art XD’ course, which specialises in projects outside of the gallery space, and is Weave/Barnaby Artist in Residence at Macclesfield College.
