Barnaby Bright Spoken Bars

Spoken Bars presents some of the North-Wests finest poets at Macclesfield’s premiere alternative venue Mash for this year’s Barnaby Bright Festival. Featuring Mark Rawlins, Rob Stevenson, Phil Poyser and your host Mike “Ruler of The God Damn Universe” Chisholm.

Mark Rawlins is Macclesfield rhyming ranter a purveyor of lyrical banter, a self-confessed grumpy old git, with a humorous take on the world and the state of it.

Rob Stevenson is a Manchester Based Performance poet; he is a founder of the Saboteur award winning poetry night “Punk In Drublic” and winner of The Say Owt & Word War Poetry slams.

Phil Poyser has been known to spin many a humorous and thought-provoking rhyme, in his wilder moment he thinks of himself as a kind of doggerel Banksy.

Mike “Ruler Of The God Damn Universe” Chisholm performs poetry about life, love, loss, rebellion and Superheroes! He recently released a book Ruling the Universe and Other Occupations.

All welcome, we want this to be an inclusive space – there will also be an opportunity for poets to perform as part of an open mic, slots will be 3 minutes long. Please contact spokenbars@gmail.com if you want to perform.
