Barnaby Festival is excited to announce that we have been successful in our bid to receive Emergency Funding from Arts Council England, following our application in April.

This award is to support the festival through the activities, events and income that have been lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It will help us find new ways to bring Barnaby to Macclesfield this year.

Currently, it is not safe to deliver the festival in the venues and unique spaces of Macclesfield in the usual way over the ten days in June.

The ACE Emergency Funding will enable us to re-scope our work and deliver a programme of engaging digital cultural activity launching in June 2020.

We will launch with a small programme, on what would be the traditional Barnaby Festival dates of June 20 and 21, which will be delivered digitally. We will be sharing more details about this soon.

This will be followed by a wider programme in the coming months taking into account the needs of communities and all guidance on health and safety, to deliver a programme of engagement learning and participation.

We hope to be able to bring elements of Barnaby Festival back in June 2021

We look forward to sharing more news with you shortly. For updates on Barnaby Festival please sign up to our newsletter and follow us on social channels.

Thank you for your continued support. Stay safe.
